On 22-23th of Octomber for a third year in a row was held Codeweek Vratsa – the biggest IT event in southwestern Bulgaria organised by Vratsa Software Comunity and teachers from mathematics school “Akad. Ivan Tsenov” . The idea of the training is to provide an opportunity for successful professionals in their field of expertise to share their experience with people at different ages. There were more than two hundred participants at ages from 10 to 60, 24 lecturers and a lot of enthusiasm in “Akad. Ivan Tsenov” and “Sofronii Vratchanski” schools. They were divided in 13 different modules in groups of 10-15 people. The participants got a closer look at the most popular opportunities for professional career in the IT field, recieved guidence and draw some inspiration from the experience of the lecturers. By the end, we all gathered to see what our fellow-participants from the other rooms managed to create. 13 projects were presented – one for each module:

At the opening, the mayor of Vratsa, Kalin Kamenov, greeted the participants. Also, David Radenkov, who graduated in “Akad. Ivan Tsenov” school and is working as a team leader in Netinfo, gave a speech about what he is doing and what is like working in the IT industry.
The participants recieved different awards provided by our sponsors Google, Reach for Change, ICN, BGO Software и Questers.
The winners of the hackaton won a money prize of two hundred leva.
