On 10-11 of October CodeWeek Vratsa got together over 250 participants of age between 10 and 60 years, 25 lecturers and lots of enthusiasm in mathematics high-school “Akad. Ivan Tsenov” and primary school “Sofroniy Vrachanski”. They were divided into groups of 10-15 people in 13 modules on different topics like: Web development with WordPress, Front-end, Programming Basics, Android, Robotics, SEO, Photoshop, Copywriting, Entrepreneurship, Animation and Hackathon. The participants got familiar with the most popular opportunities for professional development in the informational era. And also had some starting theoretical and practical experience. At the end of the 2 days all participants got together again to look at each others work during these days. Projects from all 13 modules were presented.
All participants received free hosting from one of the sponsors – ICN. The winner team from the Hackathon won free online semester at the Software University. Some of the best performing students at the programming modules won books about programming. For the breaks there was Xbox provided by Microsoft Bulgaria. The other sponsors of the event were Google and BGO software who just opened office with developers in Vratsa.
The lecturers were from many Bulgarian cities – Sofia, Varna, Ruse, Gabrovo. For the participants who want to continue their IT training there is going to be free 9-months training which goal is to prepare them for internship in software company in Vratsa.
